go into "brown" Deluxe territory. Now the 18 will have a "two-amps-in-one" personality , similar to the

Gries Amplifiers (pronounced "Grice") are based on the classic "blackface" circuits of '63-'67 and, with the introduction of the new Minnow, the "tweed" circuits of the late 50's. All amps feature modern circuit enhancements and improved construction methods and components.
 The Thirty Five and Twenty feature master volume controls, increased preamp gain, midrange controls, selectable speaker impedance output, convenient bias test jacks, and upgraded transformers and speakers. They get that unmistakable clean to moderately overdriven tone without the reliability problems associated with using a forty-year old amp. The tube-driven reverb that defined "surf guitar" is here just as you remember it. 
 The Five is our version of the single-ended 6V6 amp. The blackface style tone stack, gain & master controls, and 12" Eminence Tonkerlite speaker let you go from mellow jazz or country clean to the loudest tweed "crunch" you've ever heard five watts produce.  Introducing the new Minnow. We went back a few years to the simple yet extremely desirable single-ended circuits of the late "tweed" years. Those old amps were prized for their uncolored tone & highly touch-sensitive response. The Minnow is based on the 5F1 with the addition of better filtering, a little more gain, a much larger output transformer, and a Master Volume control. Head only.
